Swallows arrived in Woolwell very early this year – on Friday 28th March!
The weather had been warm, dry and sunny for a couple of weeks which must have attracted them over to the country. It is unusually early though, as they usually arrive in the local area during April.
I spotted the Swallows whilst out painting the fence in our back garden and heard the unmistakable chirp of them flying overhead. After stopping to look, I finally spotted two of them carrying out acrobatic manoeuvres in the sky over our house – it was great. I look forward to seeing, and hearing, my first Swallows of the year as it means Spring has come and Summer won’t be too far away!
